Born in the 1900s under the combined influences of French tradition and Japonism, the Diplomate collection displays floral and ornamental inlaid motifs of incomparable finesse, adapted in 1938 for a commission from President Roosevelt.
The service plate elegantly sets the table and frames the dinner plate throughout the meal. As the first piece placed, it sets the tone and showcases the décor from the very beginning.
